Directories and Address Books
There are several places you
should maintain correct location and
contact information for yourself.
BMGT Address Book
To access a
complete listing of Smith
Faculty, Staff and Students, you
can access the BMGT Address book
through the Lotus Notes Client
or from the BMGT Address book on
the web.
Everyone with a Notes account has a profile located in the BMGT Address Book. This profile is
useful in keeping your information
up-to-date so that other faculty,
staff and students can locate your
office, phone number, or email
address. Please keep this profile up
to date. If you're setting it
for the first time, or if your
address or contact information
changes, just open your personal
entry in the BMGT address book,
click the edit button, and change
that information. For a way to do
this over the web, please go to
update your profile.
What is a profile document?Every Notes account holder has a profile document,
whether currently enrolled or an alumni. Profiles for currently enrolled
students are located in the BMGT Address Book. Profiles for Alumni are located
in the Alumni Address Book. These profiles should include your most up-to-date
contact information. This information will be used as a reference, not only for
forwarding emails to you, but also to capture other pertinent statistics for the
School such as degree program and concentration, current employment information,
etc. You can choose to make other information "Public" or "Private" such as home
address, work information.

University
Directories
You can also access the
University of Maryland’s
complete directory by visiting
this website:
http://www.umd.edu/directories/
The source of the campus’ University
Directory information is the ARES human
resources system. This system is used not
only to create the University Faculty Staff
Directory, but also determines where your
tax documents and other important
communications are sent. To update this
profile:
-
Go to
http://www.ares.umd.edu.
-
Click on Payroll and Human Resources
from the list on the left side of the
page.
-
Click on Display/Update Personal Data.
-
You will be asked for your UMID and
PIN. The UMID is your social security
number. If you have trouble logging in
on this screen, please contact the OIT
Help desk at 301-405-1500.
-
After entering your UMID, you’ll be
taken back to the ARES home page.
You’ll have to repeat step 3, and click
once again on Display/Update Personal
Data.
-
This screen will list the information
the campus’ human resources department
knows about you.
-
IMPORTANT: When you are done
making your changes, click the Update
button at the bottom of the page to save
your changes.
Your changes will be
reflected in the University Directory within
24 hours....
