General Timeline - Fall 2008 Projects (August - December 2008)

Students teams finalized Smith School  August 15
School reconvenes from break and students receive team assignments Smith School August 31
Clients contacted for initial meeting Students/Faculty Advisors By September 9
Initial meeting between client, student team, and faculty advisor All By September 16
Letter of engagement due to client Students By September 23
Mid-project presentation to client All By October 28
Final presentation to client All By December 15

Client Roles

Project Champion - typically executive level; someone who is able to champion the project throughout the organization

Project Contact(s) - someone who is able to 'open doors' for the students and who has the ability to gain access to needed information for project research and deliverables

Smith School Roles

Student Teams - Approximately 6 MBA Students assigned to teams

Client Liaison - elected student who will be the main point of contact for the Client (contact and/or champion)

Faculty Liaison - elected student who will be the main point of contact for the Faculty Advisor & MBA Consulting Program Office

Program Liaison - elected student who will be the owner of project expenses and administration for the team

Faculty Advisor - a Smith Faculty member; dedicated to project and team; assigned based on project/client industry expertise; provide general oversight and guidance on project deliverables; grading
