Research Interests: Strategy,
Industrial Organization,
Corporate Governance
Professor Dezso teaches the
global economic environment and
the business and government
courses in the part-time MBA and
undergraduate programs. His
research examines the impact of
top execuives on firm
performance, and the moderating
effect of executives’
demographic characteristics and
firms’ corporate governance
arrangements. In addition, his
applied game theory research
examines issues related to firm
reputation and technology
adoption. His research appears
in the Journal of Economics and
Management Strategy.
Dezso joined Maryland in 2007,
after a year in economic
consulting. He completed his
Ph.D. at New York University’s
Stern School of Business. He
also holds an M.A. in economics
from the Central European
University in Budapest, Hungary,
and a B.A. in business from the
“Babes-Bolyai” University in
Cluj, Romania.
