Mark Desautels was named Vice President, Wireless Internet Development, at CTIA upon its merger with the Wireless Data Forum in January 2001. He was named President & CEO of the Wireless Data Forum in January 2000 after serving for two years as its first Managing Director. Previously, he was the Assistant to the Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Relations at the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), where he was the agency press spokesperson and chief liaison officer. Desautels helped design, develop, implement, and manage the agency’s Web site and was the agency representative to the Legislative Branch Legislative Information Systems interagency development team.

Prior to joining CBO, Desautels was the Washington-based business and economics reporter for a chain of business news weeklies owned by Scripps-Howard, covering the telecommunications industry and other beats. He also covered Capitol Hill for Thomson Newspapers. Desautels has a Master of International Public Policy degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College.
