Campus Life
At the University of Maryland, College
Park, there is a large, diverse student
body. The Smith School is located in Van
Munching Hall at the south end of the 1,580-acre
suburban campus. All of the major campus
facilities are just a short walk or shuttle
ride away.
Campus
Recreation Center
UM's Campus Recreation Center (CRC) is one
of the most advanced university facilities
for recreation, sports and fitness in the
country. Opened in 1998, the center features
two indoor pools, an outdoor pool, two gymnasiums,
an indoor walking/running track, racquetball
courts, snack bar, and weight, fitness,
and martial arts rooms. Take a refreshing
study break with an aerobics class, a few
laps in the double-Olympic-size pool, or
a set of tennis on nearby courts. For some
serious R&R, sign up for a mountain biking
trip or a paddling adventure on the nearby
Potomac River.
